Accessibility & Wheelchair-Accessible Rides
How to get an accessible ride, and what every Ridelynk driver must do.
Last updated:
Effective October 2026.
Ridelynk wants everyone to be able to get where they need to go. This page explains how to get a wheelchair-accessible vehicle (WAV), and what you can expect from every Ridelynk driver.
1. Requesting a wheelchair-accessible ride
Ridelynk drivers use their own vehicles, which are not wheelchair-accessible. If you need a vehicle with a ramp or lift, Ridelynk connects you to a wheelchair-accessible service:
- In the rider app, tap “Wheelchair-accessible ride” on the booking screen.
- The app shows the accessible service's details and lets you open its booking page or call it directly.
- Your request is recorded so we can report WAV demand to King County and the City of Seattle, as required.
You can also go straight to the City of Seattle's wheelchair-accessible vehicle page, which lists accessible taxi and for-hire options:
2. Service animals
Service animals are always welcome. Drivers must accept a rider traveling with a service animal and may not refuse, charge extra, or ask for proof or details of a disability. Refusing a service animal violates our Non-Discrimination Policy and can lead to deactivation.
3. Folding wheelchairs and mobility devices
Drivers must assist with and stow folding wheelchairs, walkers, canes, crutches and similar devices that fit safely in the vehicle, at no extra charge. Please give the driver a heads-up in the trip chat if you will need help or extra time.
4. App accessibility
Our apps support the screen readers and text-size settings built into iOS and Android. If something in the app is hard to use, tell us at support@ridelynk.com.
5. Accessibility complaints
Report a problem in the app (Report an issue) or email support@ridelynk.com. You can also contact King County Records & Licensing (forhiredriver@kingcounty.gov, 206-263-1982) or the City of Seattle (tnc@seattle.gov, 206-386-1267).
